Introduction

 

Carre’s Grammar School was founded in 1604. A selective grammar, it caters to boys aged 11-18 while also boasting a co-educational sixth form. Admissions to Carre’s Grammar School in Year 7 to a great extent depend on performance in the 11 Plus exam. The exam is set by GL Assessment and is age standardised. It’s worth noting, however, that good performance in the 11 Plus exam isn’t a guarantee of a place at the school.

 

In the case of oversubscription, the school uses the following criteria to determine allocation, prioritising:

⦿ Students in receipt of Pupil Premium

⦿ Pupils who have brothers or sisters already at the school

⦿ Students who live closest to the school.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Carre’s Grammar School

 

If you live in Lincolnshire, you should apply for a Year 7 place through the Lincolnshire County Council using a Common Application Form (CAF). Parents who live outside Lincolnshire should apply through their own Local Authority.
