Introduction

 

British School Dhahran (BSD) is a British international school in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It occupies a beautiful 40-acre campus and caters for approximately 750 pupils from over 60 different nationalities, providing a relevant and inspiring education. [1]

British School Dhahran 11+ (11 Plus) Admissions, Key Stage 3 Entry

 

Applications open in December of the year preceding entry and the application fee is SAR 1,380. 

 

Once you’ve provided all the relevant documentation, including medical forms and immunisation records, the school will reach out to schedule an assessment for your child. This usually takes place in late January/early February of the calendar year of entry.

 

Offers of places are posted in March and the acceptance deadline is in April. The acceptance deposit is SAR 5,000.

The British School Dhahran 11+ entrance assessment consists of:

 

• English comprehension 
• Essay
• Mathematics paper 

 

The English comprehension paper is in the multiple-choice format, examining comprehension skills such as inference.

 

For the essay, marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.

 

The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
