Introduction
Aldwickbury School is an independent day and boarding school for boys located on the outskirts of Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The school dates its history from 1937, when it educated roughly 15 boys and a few girls.
The Year 7 curriculum comprises maths, English, science, ICT, history, geography, religious studies, drama, Latin, MFL, music, art, DT and PSHCE.
Education at Aldwickbury School does not stop when the boys leave the classroom. Through a varied extra-curricular programme, they are encouraged to find something they enjoy, whether it is drama, music or sport.
The school fosters traditional values and promotes participation in a rich variety of academic, cultural and sporting activities. Strong pastoral care ensures that the important seeds of self-confidence are sown, which later flourish along with vital skills such as independence and self-reliance, thus complementing the academic success of pupils and the vibrancy of the school.

Aldwickbury School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are not available. However, Aldwickbury does offer means-tested bursaries to boys whose families can’t afford to pay the fees. Bursary funds are limited, hence academically capable boys, likely to gain most from the educational provision on offer, will be given priority.
When applying for a bursary, you will be asked to complete a Confidential Statement form and write a supporting letter of application, outlining the basis on which you are making the application. In most cases, the form should be submitted together with financial documents such as tax returns, mortgage documents, property valuations or formal financial settlements.
Support of up to 100% of fees may be considered, in addition to chargeable extras. It is likely that the school will award up to two bursaries for each age group only.
Please note that these awards are reviewed annually, taking into consideration the all-round progress of each boy in receipt of financial support. The annual review can also affect the value of the bursary, which can increase/decrease subject to changes in your financial circumstances.
