How will these practice tests benefit my child?
Entry to the two Tiffin schools is extremely competitive. Currently, there are no high quality resources available to help your child prepare for the Stage 2 Exam.
We have therefore created these new tests to help familiarise your child with the format, difficulty level and question types they can expect in Stage 2. We’ve included actual questions that have come up in previous years as well exam paper structures that have featured recently, such as multiple comprehension passages in the English test.
Across the ten practice tests, we’ve covered multiple variations of what you can expect on exam day. Quite simply, these papers represent the most accurate and effective practice you will find for the Tiffin Stage 2 Exam.
Why is the Tiffin Stage 2 Exam so important?
When assessing your child for entry, Tiffin School will calculate a Combined Score for your child with the following weighting:
- Stage 1 Maths: 20%
- Stage 2 Maths: 30%
- Stage 2 English: 50%
As you can see, your child’s Stage Two scores represent 80% of their total weighting!
The Tiffin Girls’ School will calculate a Combined Mark for your child with the following weighting:
- Stage 1 Maths: 10%
- Stage 2 Maths: 30%
- Stage 2 English: 60%
Performance in the Stage 2 Exam, once you make it to this stage, is clearly the defining factor in whether your child is offered a place at both schools. Therefore, it makes sense to prepare accordingly.
What’s included in each Practice Test?
Each practice test includes:
– Tiffin Stage 2 Maths Paper
– Tiffin Stage 2 English Paper
– Answers, including sample answers and mark schemes for both Comprehension and Writing
Each of the ten practice tests is unique in content but they are all pitched at the correct, exam level difficulty.
