What is Pre-11+?

 

Many parents of students in Years 4 and 5 have been in touch to request school-specific, accurate practice material at a slightly easier level than the actual 11+ Exam.

 

In response, we have launched the Pre-11+ category.

 

Pre-11+ products are designed for students in Years 4 and 5, who are preparing for the 11+ Exam.

 

They are designed to match the format, structure and timings of the actual exam. However, the questions are slightly easier than in our 11+ resources.

 

This allows your child to develop early familiarity with the actual exam format so they know exactly what is expected of them.

 

Students will be able to build strong foundations and confidence before moving on to the relevant 11+ range of products.

 

The Pre-11+ range will provide your child with ideal, age-appropriate familiarisation, allowing you to take a more gradual and effective approach to 11+ exam preparation.

 

We will be releasing many more Pre-11+ products over the coming months.

 

How will these products benefit my child?

 

Each pack consists of a full length practice test, following the timings of the actual exam:

 

  • Maths – 45 minutes
  • English – 45 minutes

 

Answer sheets and answers are provided.

 

They are designed to be slightly easier than the actual QE Boys exam so your child can build confidence and get used to the exam format before moving on to our 11+ Practice Tests here.

Here are just a few examples of the level of attention and detail these papers contain:

 

  1. Exact timings and number of questions of the actual test are used.
  2. Includes questions based on concepts that have come up in the actual exam in previous years.
  3. Answer sheets have been replicated exactly so your child can get used to marking their answers as they will need to in the actual test.
  4. Each timed section is presented in the same order as it will be in the actual test.

The Henrietta Barnett School is one of the most sought after schools in the country. Every year, around 3000 girls compete for just 100 places, which means your daughter’s exam scores need to be in the 95th percentile or above to succeed.

 

The school’s 11+ Exam has two stages. The first stage is created by GL Assessment and consists of:

 

  • English
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning

 

Students who do well in this first stage test are invited back for another round of testing.

 

The scores from both rounds of testing are then combined to form an overall score and rank for each girl.

 

Therefore, doing well in the first stage test is vital not only to make it through to the second round but also to ensure your daughter’s overall ranking is as high as possible.

 

That’s where our new practice tests will come in handy.
