Introduction

Basic information: City of London Freemen’s School (CLFS) is a co-ed independent day and boarding school located at Ashtead Park in Surrey. Established in 1854, CLFS is a sister school to City of London School and City of London School for Girls. [1]

Curriculum: At CLFS, a rich selection of subject areas are delivered by experienced form teachers, who provide a dynamic and vigorous atmosphere for learning inside the classroom. Specialist teaching is provided for music, RS and PE, among others, allowing children to develop further abilities within the context of the school’s relevant educational programme.

Co-curricular: Through a wealth of extracurricular opportunities, CLFS equips pupils with the skills necessary for them to thrive throughout their adult years. Whether they be debating, chess or swimming, the activities on offer add up to the excitement that naturally thrives in vibrant and competitive learning environments. [2]

ISI Inspection report: Rated as ‘excellent’ by the ISI in their latest report for the school, CLFS sets the bar high for both the academic and personal development of its pupils. The educational provision is of the highest standard and the pastoral care is extensive, resulting in strong outcomes across all areas of children’s growth. [3]

Freemen’s community of able learners is grounded in ambition and responsibility for one’s actions, which complement the harmonious atmosphere pervading the campus. Nurturing independence of spirit and intellectual curiosity, pupils acquire qualifications that help them successfully cope with life’s challenges and adversities, regardless of their intensity.
