This claim by the headmaster of Brighton College, Richard Cairns is admirable and ambitious:
‘Every child at Brighton College is valued for his or her own sake, encouraged to develop his or her talents to the full in a community where there are no stereotypes and where every achievement, however small, is noticed.’
It is a forward-thinking school, where academic achievement, independent thinking and curiosity is fostered and encouraged. In the College for example, a ‘trouser uniform’ and a ‘skirt uniform’ is available to all pupils regardless of sex, but they must stick to a consistent choice.
Admissions Process for Brighton College Prep School Year 6 entry

Scholarships and Bursaries
Bursaries may be available to pupils from low income families and modest deferment may be available to families suffering short term financial problems. They are available for pupils in Years 7 to 13 and are awarded for one academic year only. Parents must reapply each year. Please note that receipt of bursary support for one year does not guarantee support in subsequent years.
Most pupils move on to the Senior School of Brighton College, as this is the wish of the majority of parents. However, the College uses the common entrance exams as the assessment for entry and therefore places are not guaranteed
